We reviewed the colors of the rainbow, different types of lines, and used watercolors for the first time this year! We also discussed how you could use a line over and over again to make texture like feathers
All the elementary schools in our district had the opportunity to decorate trees inside the downtown mall area. Our schools mascot is the bald eagle so we made lots of eagles! A few kids came down and helped put up our ornaments. The trees look really great!
We learned about the element of space and 3 ways to produce that illusion in a drawing: overlapping, size, and details. We also reviewed how to shade a sphere and blend color with the oil pastels.
4th graders learned about the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. This is a day where family's celebrate the memory of people that have died. One of the special decorations that are made are sugar skulls. We made ours using oil pastels.
